Sweets and Desserts
We know sweets are an important part of our live! Research has shown that craving sweets is a result of classical conditioning: behaviors we have adopted over time because we feel rewarding. Sugary processed foods may trigger the release of the “feel-good” neurochemical dopamine in your brain’s reward center. More dopamine could mean more cravings.
Our bodies need one type of sugar, called glucose, to survive. There is a variety of naturally occurring sugars in whole foods that the body needs to stay healthy. Added sugars refer to any sugar in foods that are not naturally occurring, such as sugar in baked goods.
On our products, we look to offer for natural sugars and/or natural sweeteners that help you with those sweet cravings. Remember, it is important that not just the type of sugar you are eating, also the quantity.
